First Quilt Completion of 2015

Oklahoma State University - College of Health Sciences T-Shirt Quilt for Dr. Kristina Smith

My New Year's resolution for 2015 is to finish as many unfinished projects as I can in the 12 months ahead. My first endeaver was to tackle the bag of T-shirts my daughter gave me in 2012 from her medical school years. I had promised her a quilt but it had never been made. 2012 was a very difficult year....I became an empty nester when Kristy graduated from medical in May and a widow in August when Jeffrey died. Needless to say the bag of t-shirts was not on my mind during that time.
Kristina's birthday is January 14th (today) so I thought it fitting to begin working on my resolution by making her quilt. Even though we are all OU fans when it comes to football (both girls graduated from OU undergraduate) and we bleed RED.   I had to move to the dark side (LOL) and use OSU fabric for the set up and backing of this quilt since her medical school was affiliated with OSU.

I gave it to her tonight at her birthday dinner. What a surprise!! She was thrilled.

Happy birthday Baby Girl... Dr. Kristina Smith.....or as her favorite niece would call her, "Auntie KK" Happy Birthday!!

One project completed.....gives me energy to move on to the next bag which contains a baby girl quilt top.

Happy Trails,
