Four Generations of Strong Women

Monday . . . Renewed Hope!

Today there is a sense of new hope and strength. I am sure it comes from our Heavenly Father who has heard the many, many prayers that have been lifted up on Jeffrey's behalf. His counts are stable this morning after the blood and platelets given yesterday. He has been moved to a floor where he can begin the chemo agent for MDS. He actually called and had me bring him an Egg McMuffin. He ate it and is now resting. This is the first he has eaten in three days. So a good sign! They are giving him oral long acting pain meds which seem to be doing a good job at controlling his pain. We are waiting for a pow wow between our Dr. Here and our Dr. in Texas as to the next step. We HOPE to begin chemo today or tomorrow.

Design wall Monday:

In the meantime let's take a look at what's on my design wall today:

  • These are 24 of the blocks from the Barrister's Block Sow Along. I was caught up before last Thursday's installment. I have been kinda busy since then. There are four more blocks out there I need to get done. I am using shirting blues for the backgrounds. I seem to have a lot of red too. Trying to be very scrappy. That is hard for me. I am a matchy, matchy, girl. My girls get on me ALL the time for being to "matchy, matchy" in my wardrobe. Oh well...I am a child of the 60's and we all did that....just like Jackie Kennedy! Who's out there with me? Rally to my defense all you girls that matched shoes, purses, and clothing for years!!  Check out all the Design Wall Monday participants at  Patchwork Times.

How can you not have Hope when you see this smiling at you?  Miss Ella turned 3 months yesterday!  God's gift to us in the form of this little girl has been a ray hope in a sea of darkness.  Thank you Lord for Miss Ella!  May her life be filled with Your love and presence so that others will see You through her.!!

How about a look at four generations of strong women?

From left to right:
Jenny (Miss Ella's mom, my oldest daughter , granddaughter to Ella and sister to Kristy)
Ella ( My mother, grandmother to my girls and Great-Grandmother to Miss Ella)
MissElla (Star of the show..daughter to Jenny, granddaughter to me, great granddaughter to Ella and niece to Kristy
Me ... Sue ....aka Mtn Mama (Mother of the girls, nana to Miss Ella and daughter to Ella)
Kristy ....almost (11days) ....Dr. Kristy Smith daughter, granddaughter to Ella, sister to Jenny and favorite Auntie to Miss Ella

May your Monday be blessed with sunshine, smiles and laughter and above all HOPE! Will be back with recipes later in the week!

Happy Trails,

Mtn Mama
