Countdown to Christmas

This is how my kitchen table looked after Dr. Kristy spent the afternoon baking cookies. We are blessed to have her here for two days before she has to go back to the city and work through the holiday. We are celebrating Christmas tomorrow here with Jenny, Jon, Ella, Kristy and me. It will be our first Christmas without Jeffrey. As sad as that makes me I am blessed to have a wonderful loving family and we will enjoy the time we have together. And besides Jeffrey will get to celebrate the birth of our Lord Jesus with all the angels in heaven!! That is a wonderful and comforting thought to me!!

Miss Ella has a cold and isn't sleeping very well so we are staying close to home and having fun cooking and playing with her. I worked on finishing my Snowmen Wallhangings today and have already given one away. I sewed on buttons, sleeves, and made labels.

I really do like my embroidered quilt labels. I need to be more diligent in 2013 about labeling my quit projects. I guess that starts my list of New Year's Resolutions.

I think the backs are almost as pretty as the fronts.

Miss Ella had fun with the dogs through the storm door. Queenie, Kristy's bulldog can knock her over by accident so this is the best way to play for now.

Happy girl...even when she has a cold. Joy to my heart!!

Since "Snowmen" seem to be my theme this Christmas I just have to show you the snowman quilt that is hanging in my entry hall. I embroidered the snowmen blocks with my Designer SE. The quilt is flannel. It is my design. I finished it over a year ago but this is the first Winter for it to hang in the foyer. I love it!!

Maybe next year Miss Ella and I will snuggle under this one!! As for now I am just happy to have my family home and to be surrounded with the love and peace that only God can give. Thanks for all your cards and prayers.

Happy Trails,

Mtn Mama

  3. Your Christmas mats are really lovely! Those snowmen are gorgeous, and your quilt labels look great too. I have to be more diligent about labelling in 2013 too, so snap on the resolution :) Such a lovely happy baby, enjoy Christmas with your family! x
