Sunday Silence
As I begin a new week it is with great pleasure that I can spend a part of today in silence just asking God to meet me where I am at. It's hard for me to be still for very long but I am longing for communication with Him that can only come when I clear my mind, stop the world around me and seek His presence. I especially need His presence this week as I am facing some emotional "Firsts". The first, "First", is a very joyous occasion. On February 6th, Miss Ella, my granddaughter, will turn ONE year old. What a pure joy she is to our family. I thank God for her life and the many blessings she gives to those around her. I thank Him that she arrived while "Papa" was still here and he got to meet her. The second "First", is the birthday of my late husband. His birthday was February 7th. He has been gone 5 1/2 months so this is his "first" birthday without him. I thank God for the 31 1/2 years I was married to him and all the memories that I have to cherish. The weekend will bring both of my girls home for a visit along with Miss Ella. We will celebrate both birthdays as a family. I hope that you have time today to spend with the God who loves you very much, and thank Him for all the joys and challenges in your life.

I am happy with my progress so far. Pretty good start for the first month of 2013. Now If I can continue to do that for 11 more months I may actually make space for more fabric in 2014!!!
Happy Trails,
Mtn Mama
Miss Ella can't wait to visit her Nana!!
ReplyDeleteLove the psalm you've quoted on your blog--a wonderful way to start a new week! Sounds like you've been very productive.
ReplyDeleteThat is exactly what I need to do--give Him more time to speak to me and HEAR what He's saying (as so often I close my ears because I don't want to hear what He's saying!!). Sounds like we have a lot in common (though you have daughters and I have sons and they are two ENTIRELY different animals!). My dear hubby, Frank, passed away in Aug. after a year of battling a malignant brain tumor. His birthday was Oct., then Thanksgiving and Christmas (which I chose to sit out entirely) and my birthday, all without him. I'm still fighting anger at God for taking Frank from me and sons who, for the most part, don't seem to care that I'm still here.
ReplyDeleteMine is still here, for which I am grateful, but my heart hurts for you, for Sherrill and for myself.
ReplyDeleteSorry for your loss, Nana. He will always be close with the wonderful memories you have of your time together. Wonderful numbers you have there. Quilting always brings me peace.
